Who are we?
We are part of a group of researchers working across a number of organisations including universities, the NHS and Social Action for Health. We are interested in how medications are prescribed to people who have multiple long-term conditions.
What is this research about?
We want to make sure that people living with long-term conditions are on the right number and kind of medicines. In this project we will use new developments in computer technology – ‘artificial intelligence’ (AI) to detect patterns of diagnoses and prescriptions in people’s electronic health records. These patterns could help healthcare professionals recognise when people need additional support and/or changes to their prescriptions.
